Beware the Mound-Dweller! A short illustrated history.
This talk will take the audience on a brief journey through time, following the history of the Orkney mound-dweller. Based on Nela Scholma-Mason’s doctoral thesis, the talk will explore the relationship between farmer and mound-dweller over the past centuries and how this has shaped our views on the Orkney landscape – from medieval attitudes towards prehistoric sites to unexpected adventures of Victorian archaeologists.
The talk is accompanied by illustrations; stories told by Tom Muir; and a short silent film.
Ticket price: £6 / £4. Tickets are being used for this event.
