Fran Flett Hollinrake

Fran Flett Hollinrake

Fran is a storyteller, historian, writer and tourist guide who was delighted to discover she has Orcadian ancestry. After many years telling ghost stories in Edinburgh, she came to Orkney 15 years ago and has enjoyed discovering the rich treasures of Orkney folklore. Fran has told stories in Europe and all over Scotland, and after attending a course run by the Scottish Storytelling Centre, she decided to organise a festival in Orkney –  and look where we are now. In early 2018 Fran delivered a class in storytelling as part of the Orkney Island’s Council’s Community Learning programme, with a view to supporting and encouraging new local talent. Fran is currently working on a book about Supernatural Orkney, so she can indulge her love of ghosts, spirits, and witchy tales. She is on the Register of Scottish Storytellers.
