Sarah Jane is a local singer, archaeology lecturer and writer.
Her interest in Orkney’s heritage dates back to her childhood as she was brought up in a family steeped in stories of Orkney’s folklore, history and culture. Her academic research has recently focused on the life and cult of St Magnus, our local saint.
Sarah Jane is a regular performer at the Orkney Folk Festival, and has been researching the cultural roots of Orkney song for many years. She is joining forces with Kate Fletcher and Corwen Broch, to explore the links between folklore, song and music in Orkney.
